DAF Sludge Dewatering

Effective dewatering of dissolved air flotation sludge

DAF Sludge Treatment

Dissolved air flotation (DAF) produces a float sludge that is typically concentrated at 3–8% dry solids and rich in fats, oils, and grease. This sludge type is particularly challenging for belt filter presses and plate-and-frame filter presses, as the greasy material quickly blinds filter cloth. The self-cleaning ring disc design of multi-disc screw presses makes them the preferred technology for DAF sludge dewatering. The moving rings continuously clear the filtration gaps, preventing grease-related blockages.

RF Series for DAF Sludge

  • Feed concentration typically 3–8% DS — directly processable without pre-thickening
  • Self-cleaning design prevents grease-related clogging
  • RF-131 to RF-404: throughput from 20 to 1,280 kg DS/h at 5% feed
  • 316/316L stainless steel for food-grade and corrosive environments
