What Is a Screw Press?

A screw press is a continuous mechanical dewatering device that separates water from sludge through slow screw conveyance and filtration. The multi-disc design uses alternating fixed and moving ring discs that continuously self-clean — eliminating clogging and reducing maintenance to a minimum. The RF series combines thickening and dewatering in a single machine, processing sludge from as low as 0.2% dry solids without separate pre-thickening equipment.

Self-Cleaning Ring Disc Filter Elements

Fixed and moving stainless steel rings form the filtration gaps and keep them clear continuously — no filter cloth, no clogging.

Key Advantages

Self-Cleaning Design

Moving ring discs continuously clear filtration gaps — no filter cloth, no screen replacement.

Combined Thickening & Dewatering

Process sludge from 0.2% DS upward without separate pre-thickening equipment.

Very Low Energy

Drive power 0.2–5.15 kW. Fraction of centrifuge energy consumption.

Oily & Greasy Sludge

Excels where belt presses and filter presses fail — no cloth blinding.

Low Noise & Vibration

Slow screw rotation means quiet, vibration-free operation.

Modular Scalability

RF-131 to RF-404: single to quad configurations, 6–1,664 kg DS/h.
