Municipal Wastewater
Reliable sludge dewatering for wastewater treatment plants of all sizes
Municipal Wastewater Sludge
Municipal wastewater treatment plants are the largest application for screw press dewatering systems. From small community plants to large regional facilities, the screw press provides reliable, energy-efficient sludge volume reduction with minimal operator attention.
The RF series handles all common municipal sludge types: waste activated sludge (WAS), primary sludge, mixed sludge, aerobically and anaerobically digested sludge, and chemical precipitation sludge.
Typical Parameters
- Feed concentration: 0.5–4% DS (dry solids)
- Polymer demand: 5–15 kg active polymer per tonne DS
- Typical cake solids: 15–25% DS depending on sludge type
- Wash water: 24–320 L/h depending on model
- Energy: 0.02–0.1 kWh per m³ of sludge processed
