Screw press dewatering at municipal wastewater treatment plants
Dewatering at Municipal Plants
Municipal wastewater treatment plants are the backbone application for screw press dewatering. The self-cleaning multi-disc press runs continuously and largely unattended, making it ideal for plants where operator time is limited.
A single RF machine can be matched to the plant’s dry solids load, while multiple dewatering units in one frame serve larger regional facilities. All common municipal sludges — waste activated, primary, mixed and digested — are handled with appropriate polymer conditioning.
Typical Sludge & Process Parameters
| Parameter | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Feed concentration | 0.5–4% DS |
| Cake solids | 15–25% DS |
| Polymer demand | 5–15 kg/t DS |
| Solids capture | ≥ 95% |
