Municipal Screw Press Systems

Continuous sludge dewatering for wastewater treatment plants

Municipal Sludge Dewatering

Municipal wastewater treatment plants generate significant volumes of sludge that require dewatering before disposal or further treatment. Screw press systems provide a reliable, low-maintenance solution for continuous dewatering of primary, secondary (waste activated), and digested sludges. The RF series screw press is designed to handle the full range of municipal sludge types — from thin waste activated sludge at 0.5–1.0% DS to thickened or digested sludge at 2–4% DS — in a single machine without the need for separate pre-thickening.

Municipal Applications

  • Waste activated sludge (WAS) from secondary treatment
  • Primary sludge and mixed sludge
  • Aerobically and anaerobically digested sludge
  • Chemical precipitation sludge
  • DAF sludge from tertiary treatment
