Troubleshooting
Cake Not Discharging
Cake sticking or failing to leave the press
The cake fails to discharge cleanly from the outlet — sticking in the chute, building up, or not forming a proper plug. This interrupts operation and can back up the machine.

The cake fails to discharge cleanly from the outlet — sticking in the chute, building up, or not forming a proper plug. This interrupts operation and can back up the machine.
Causes and corrective actions
| Possible cause | Corrective action |
|---|---|
| Back pressure too high forming a hard plug | Reduce back pressure so cake releases. |
| Sticky, over-conditioned cake | Reduce polymer to a firmer, crumbly cake. |
| Chute too shallow or rough | Steepen the chute or line it with a low-friction surface. |
| Downstream conveyor stopped or full | Interlock the press with the conveyor and clear the blockage. |
