Self-Cleaning Screw Press
Continuous self-cleaning for reliable, unattended operation
How Self-Cleaning Works
The self-cleaning mechanism in a multi-disc screw press relies on the continuous relative motion between fixed and moving ring discs. As the screw rotates, the moving discs shift position, scraping the surfaces of the adjacent fixed discs and clearing accumulated solids from the filtration gaps.
This eliminates the need for manual cleaning cycles, backwash systems, or periodic screen replacements that are common with conventional belt presses and screen basket screw presses.
Benefits
- No filter cloth or screen basket to replace
- Minimal wash water requirement
- Stable operation with oily and greasy sludges
- Reduced maintenance costs and downtime
- Suitable for 24/7 continuous unattended operation
