Three-screw stainless steel screw press for sludge dewatering in an industrial hall

Moving Rings

The floating rings that keep the filtration gaps clear

The Self-Cleaning Principle

Moving rings sit loosely between the fixed rings and are carried along by the rotating screw flight. As the screw turns, these rings continuously move up and down within the gaps, wiping away any solids that would otherwise clog the openings. This continuous mechanical cleaning is what allows the screw press to run with very little wash water and to handle oily, greasy, and fibrous sludge that would quickly blind conventional filters.

Benefits

  • Continuous self-cleaning — no cloth blinding
  • Very low wash water demand
  • Reliable operation with oily and fibrous sludge
