Components

Filtrate Collection

Captures and routes the separated water

Handling the Filtrate

The filtrate collection tray sits beneath the screen basket and collects all the water that passes through the filtration gaps. This filtrate is drained by gravity to a sump and typically returned to the head of the wastewater treatment plant. Filtrate quality — measured as total suspended solids (TSS) — is an important indicator of dewatering performance. Clean filtrate confirms good polymer conditioning and high solids capture.

Function

  • Gravity drainage to the plant return line
  • Filtrate TSS indicates solids capture efficiency
  • Enclosed design contains odour and splashing
