Drive Unit
Low-speed, high-torque rotation for the screw
Powering the Screw
The drive unit provides the slow, high-torque rotation that conveys and compresses the sludge. Because the screw turns at only a few revolutions per minute, the drive delivers high torque at low speed with very modest power consumption.
A well-matched drive unit is essential for reliable operation: it must overcome the resistance of the compressed cake at the discharge end while maintaining smooth, consistent rotation.
Features
- Low speed, high torque — typically 0.2–5.15 kW across the RF series
- Variable-frequency drive enables screw speed control
- Overload protection safeguards the machine
