Low-Energy Sludge Dewatering
Dewatering at a fraction of the energy cost
Energy-Efficient Design
Screw press technology operates at a fraction of the energy consumption of centrifuges. The slow-rotating screw shaft requires only a small gear motor — typically 0.2 to 5.15 kW for the RF series — compared to 30–100+ kW for equivalent-capacity centrifuges.
This translates to specific energy consumption of approximately 0.02–0.1 kWh per m³ of sludge processed, making the screw press the most energy-efficient mechanical dewatering technology available.
Energy Comparison
| Technology | Power (typical) | Energy per m³ |
|---|---|---|
| Screw Press | 0.2–5.15 kW | 0.02–0.1 kWh/m³ |
| Belt Filter Press | 3–15 kW | 0.1–0.5 kWh/m³ |
| Centrifuge | 30–100+ kW | 1–3 kWh/m³ |
