Operation & Maintenance

Spare Parts & Wear Components

What wears, and what to keep on the shelf

The screw press has few wear parts thanks to its slow rotation and self-cleaning screen. Keeping a small set of recommended spares on hand avoids extended downtime and keeps dewatering available.

Typical wear and spare items

  • Moving rings and spacers — the main wear parts of the screen.
  • Screw wear protection / hard-facing on the flight edges.
  • Shaft seals and bearings on the drive end.
  • Spray nozzles for the wash-water bar.
  • Polymer dosing pump consumables and tubing.

Low wear by design

Because the screw turns slowly and the rings self-clean without high-pressure sprays, wear rates are far lower than on centrifuges or belt presses. There are no belts, filter cloths or high-speed bowls to replace. A recommended spares kit and a modest maintenance schedule are normally enough to keep the machine running for years.
