Design Criteria
The parameters that determine the right machine
Establishing Design Criteria
Before a screw press can be sized, the design criteria must be defined. These form the specification against which the machine is selected and its performance guaranteed.
Design Criteria
| Criterion | Typical Range |
|---|---|
| Dry solids load | 6–1,664 kg DS/h |
| Feed concentration | 0.5–8% DS |
| Target cake solids | 15–25% DS |
| Polymer demand | 5–15 kg/t DS |
| Solids capture | >95% |
| Material | SS 304 / 316 / 316L |
