Dry Solids Loading
Measuring and applying the DS load in design
Applying the DS Load
In engineering practice the dry solids load must reflect not just average conditions but the design case — including peak loads, seasonal variation, and desired operating hours. A design margin is applied so the machine is not run permanently at its maximum.
The calculated DS load is then matched against the RF series performance table to select a model that meets the duty with headroom.
Design Practice
- Use the design (peak) case, not just the average
- Apply a sensible capacity margin
- Confirm against the RF performance table
