Cake Handling
Moving and storing the dewatered cake
From Press to Disposal
Once dewatered, the sludge cake must be conveyed, stored, and ultimately disposed of or reused. Cake handling design selects the right conveying method for the cake consistency and plans storage capacity to match disposal logistics.
Common routes include landfill, incineration, composting, and agricultural use — each with different requirements for cake dryness and handling.
Handling Options
- Shafted/shaftless screw or belt conveyors
- Skips, containers, or silo storage
- Disposal route drives target cake dryness
