Screw Press Tender Specification
Writing a specification that yields comparable, guaranteed offers
Performance-Based Specification
The strongest tender specifications are performance-based: they define the sludge, the duty and the guaranteed outputs (cake dryness, capture rate, throughput, polymer and energy limits) rather than dictating a specific machine. This allows fair comparison of technologies while protecting the required result. Evaluation should weigh total cost of ownership, not capital price alone.
Elements of a good specification
- Defined sludge characteristics and design load
- Guaranteed cake dryness and solids capture
- Polymer and energy consumption limits
- Materials, noise, and enclosure requirements
- TCO-based evaluation and test/acceptance criteria
