Screw Press Maintenance Cost

Low-speed design means low maintenance

Why Maintenance Cost Is Low

Screw presses rotate slowly (typically well under 1 rpm at the screw), so mechanical wear is low and there are no fast-moving belts, high-speed bearings or filter cloths to replace. Maintenance is largely limited to periodic inspection, lubrication, and eventual replacement of screw and ring wear parts after long service. This is a decisive advantage over belt presses and centrifuges.

Typical maintenance activities

  • Periodic visual inspection and cleaning
  • Lubrication per manufacturer schedule
  • Check of polymer dosing and wash-water nozzles
  • Eventual replacement of screw/ring wear parts after extended service
